Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They started out as a small machine shop at first employing four people. Sales for their initial year of operation totaled $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel pipe fittings, valves and various components. During five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 staff and their yearly sales volume had increased to three hundred thirty thousand dollars. Today, Cascade is among the leading international producers in the material handling trade.
Design and manufacturing of the company's first hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively pursue better business opportunities. All through the last 60 years, the industry of material handling has developed into a very advanced area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its development. Cascade at present continues to grow as the best supplier of lift truck accessories and numerous related products. The company feels certain in their skill to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding client's requirements in the future and remaining aggressive within the world market.
In the 1950's, Cascade started designing, fabricating and selling hydraulic accessories. Manufacturing was finished in the year 1956 on a brand new facility to house all the office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current center of operations. Subsequent to 15 years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty workers and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.
The next production plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. 1960 marked Cascade's initial transfer into the global world of the material handling industry while the business established interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Ever since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services within the continental USA to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade products are manufactured internationally due to a lot of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a brand new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This plant is made to be the essential customer support centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and 1997 with the impressive acquisition of five companies, along with the worldwide leader in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
